AGTC is highly specialised in the field of Microbiology with expertise in culture media. With currently more than 400 different media, among which you will find chromogenic media, ISO-formulated media and custom-made media, as well as ready-to-use media in tubes, flasks and plates, specific ready-to use media such as hemoculture flasks, Dip Slides , Rodac Plates and plates for water control. We also offer supplements and additives and reagents for bacteria identification.

To complement our Microbiology range, we also have products for Molecular Biology. We offer dehydrated culture media for Molecular Biology, buffers and Resins for Affinity Chromatography (His-tagged proteins) and for the Immobilization of Biomolecules. We also offer all the necessary raw materials for the manufacture of media. We have a complete range of agars for different applications (microbiology, food, pharmaceutical and plant tissue culture), peptones from plant and animal origin (with Certificates of Suitability for BSE-Free assurance) plus a range of carbohydrates and glucosides.

Agarose is a fraction extracted from agar-producing seaweeds and it is the component mainly responsible for agar’s gelling power. It exhibits a high hysteresis (the difference between melting and gelling temperatures) making it ideal for separation techniques such as electrophoresis and chromatography within the fields of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Our Agarose is neutral and free from toxic material so it can be handled freely. In addition to its uses in gels, agarose can be used to form support structures such as beads, to which proteins, such as enzymes and antibodies, as well as other products, including dyes and antigens, can be fixed for chromatograph and purification applications.
