Company Profile
Carbosynth offers a product portfolio for the international pharmaceutical, biotechnology, diagnostics and research communities. We focus on the synthesis of simple and complex carbohydrate building blocks, nucleosides and some fine chemicals. The core technologies include the synthesis of unnatural sugars and nucleosides, but we also have experience in a wide range of protection and activation strategies leading to high quality products such as IPTG, 2-nitrophenyl-b-D-galactopyranoside, N-acetyl lactosamine.
Carbosynth aims to offer the broadest range of carbohydrates and nucleosides for the R&D communities. Our catalogue has over 2000 carbohydrates and nucleosides. This range includes monosaccharides, protected and activated carbohydrate building blocks, lactones, enzyme substrates, oligosaccharides, detergents and modified nucleosides. Although our catalogue offers quantities for R&D, many are produced in bulk, for example IPTG, methyl-a-D-glucopyranoside, n-octyl-b-D-glucopyranoside, 2,3,4,6-tetra-O-benzyl-D-galactopyranose, trehalose, diacetone-D-mannose, D-ribonic acid-1,4-lactone and 2-nitrophenyl-b-D-galactopyranoside are in 10’s-1000’s of kilos scale. If we don't already produce in bulk, we are ready to scale up to meet our clients’ needs.
In addition we offer a range of fine chemicals, many of which are versatile building blocks or have specialist applications ranging from biochemical reagents to natural antioxidants. Included in this product range are coupling agents, such as EDAC, and activators in peptide and oligonucleotide synthesis such as (R)-2,5-dihydro-3,6-dimethoxy-2-isopropylpyrazine and 2-amino-3-chloropyrazine.
Custom synthesis is one of Carbosynth’s fastest growing business sectors. We are committed to providing in-time development and delivery of quality compounds. We are able to draw upon a wide range of chemical reactions and processes especially in the fields of carbohydrates and nucleosides.
