The Laboratory Business (LB) marketing unit coordinates all marketing and sales activities in the Performance & Life Science Chemicals (PLS) division that are aimed at users in laboratories within the pharmaceutical, food and chemical industries, and those engaged in environmental analysis. It comprises five product management groups – the central marketing group and three marketing regions departments.
For more than a million customers and users worldwide we are an innovative, dependable and competent partner. LB works closely with strong sales partners, the CMGs, VWR International and selected distributors.
Summary of LB responsibilities:
Increase turnover and gross profit for laboratory products. In countries in which LSS has not set any particular emphasis, this also applies to production chemicals.
Creative marketing and successful bringing-to-market for established and innovative products as well as offers of service for existing and new customers.
Development and controlling of marketing and sales campaigns, which are individually conceived for markets and regions; realization through close cooperation with local partner organizations.
Pigments - We give color a new dimension
Effect pigments for automotive coatings, cosmetics and industrial applications
The PLS/Pigments subdivision is a leading supplier of effect pigments used in packaging and product design for differentiating and positioning a wide variety of branded products. We provide established and innovative effect pigments for printing inks, plastics and coatings as well as special pigments for color and personal care cosmetics.
Our newly developed pigments in particular are helping to strengthen the brand identity of products and to attract attention to them. Besides decorative applications, security-relevant aspects, for example brand protection, are extremely important. Our first-class service and extensive application know-how make us an strong partner for our customers.

Due to the merging of some of our major competitors as well as new competition from China, the effect pigments market is in a state of change.
