With over one hundred years of experience in chemical manufacturing, Wright Corporation is dedicated to producing only the highest quality industrial, specialty and fine chemicals.

Wright Corporation’s predecessor in the chemical business was founded in 1883. The company known today as Wright Corporation was formed in 1959 as a liquid Alum plant on that same site. It has been a family owned company for four generations. Our corporate offices are located in Wilmington, North Carolina and production facilities are in nearby Acme and also in Scotia, New York.

We are a responsive company, driven by customer satisfaction. Strong financially, we can expand our facilities, to meet our customers' requirements. Wright Corporation has over 140 employees, including 6 Ph.D.'s and 16 M.S. & B.S. level chemists.

Our core businesses include the manufacture of hexamethylenetetramine (hexamine), formaldehyde, aqua ammonia, and specialty resins.

We also have a growing Fine Chemicals Division that does customer driven custom syntheses, including pharmaceutical intermediates. One particular area of expertise is in organosulfur products.

Additionally, Silar Laboratories, a wholly owned subsidiary, produces organosilanes (for pharmaceutical, electronics, industrial and specialty chemical use). Silar Laboratories and the Fine Chemicals Division have joint manufacturing facilities capable to produce from kilos to multi-ton scale.

Wright Corporation recently helped launch and holds majority ownership in Quality Chemical Laboratories (QCL), which operates independently from Wright's manufacturing units. QCL provides advanced analytical capabilities (operating under strict cGMP's). QCL's facilities augment Wright's own laboratories on an as needed basis.

Major growth (and capital expenditures) are planned for our business in organosilanes and pharmaceutical compounds. We have a commitment to leadership in formaldehyde chemistry (through forward integration) and innovative technologies (in specialty resins and monomers used in the manufacture of optical lens materials).

Our plant is ISO 9002 certified. We have plans for a new cGMP facility that would allow us to manufacture pharmaceutical active ingredients (API's) on a custom basis.



Wright Corporation's Silar Laboratories and Fine Chemical divisions have bulk chemical manufacturing and development facilities in Acme, NC. They are located on 1,100 acres about 20 miles from our corporate headquarters in nearby Wilmington.

We can manufacture in kilogram to multi-ton scale. Fine Chemicals and Silar Laboratories, can work to customer specific criteria. We take pride in our ability to focus on our customers' needs in manufacturing custom products.
